The Wellington Phoenix have lost 4-2 to Sydney in their women’s A-League match at Porirua Park.
Two goals from Australia’s World Cup star Cortnee Vine and an own goal gave Sydney a 3-0 lead before the Phoenix fought back with goals from imports Isabel Cox and Mariana Speckmaier.
However, Jordan Thompson put the result beyond the home side’s reach with Sydney’s fourth goal in the 74th minute.
