Futsal Whites bring in late replacements for three-match series in Vietnam

The Futsal Whites have made two late changes to their touring squad to play a three-match international series in Vietnam.

Capital Futsal’s Luc Saker has been recalled to the national squad, while Canterbury United Dragons’ Hemi Innes has earned his debut call-up after an impressive Ford Futsal Superleague campaign.

They replace England-based Logan Wisnewski and Southern United’s Oban Hawkins who have been forced to withdraw through injury.

The Futsal Whites will play IR Iran (FIFA rank #7), Morocco (#8), and hosts Vietnam (#38) in Ho Chi Minh City in late March 2024. New Zealand are currently ranked 49th.

The series is an important part of the team’s preparation for their first-ever appearance at a FIFA Futsal World Cup, in Uzbekistan in September.
