Football’s national body is hosting a series of regional workshops to help North Island clubs establish and improve welfare practices.

The Performance and Prevention workshops will be held in Auckland, Hamilton, Lower Hutt and Palmerston North between mid-April and early May 2024.

NZ Football says: “This workshop is recommended for 2-4 representatives from a club to attend and is targeted towards those with the ability to influence direction at the governance and operational levels i.e. club presidents, committee members, directors of football and club staff.”

Workshops have already been held in the South Island.

The workshops help participants:

  • Understand the essence of what ‘good practice’ welfare looks like for football clubs in New Zealand.
  • Identify practical and effective strategies to enhance welfare within your club environment.
  • Receive resources and links that will allow you to create and develop your own club welfare profile.
  • Receive an action plan that will bring your ideas to life and raises your club’s capability to provide a safe and well environment for your members.
