Central Football appoint Michael Reive to Taranaki community operations role

Central Football have appointed Michael Reive as their Taranaki-based community operations manager.

Announcing his appointment, Central Football said: “Via a recent review of how we operate across the Federation, we have determined that a slight change in role was appropriate for the Taranaki region to help support potential growth, ensure our clubs are sustainable, are positioned to provide great experiences for their members, and to support how we grow and develop match officials in the region.”

The role would also provide support for John Gray, the regional community manager, in junior/youth competitions and help deliver services such as holiday programmes and Federation Talent Centre (FTC).

Reive is well-known to many in the region, having played Central League football for Team Taranaki and he still plays social football for Moturoa FC.

“He has been involved in coaching at junior level and via our FTC program and also has a keen interest in the development of the girls and women’s’ game in the region,” the federation said.

“Michael is well regarded in the football community as a genuine person who is engaging and gets things done. He is considered in his approach but also more than capable of making decisions that benefit the game across the region — all traits that were evident via the interview process.”

Reive will take up his role on May 20, 2024.
