Ferns forward Hannah Blake becomes free agent after exit from Adelaide United

New Zealand international forward Hannah Blake has left women’s A-League club Adelaide United, the club has confirmed.

Blake (24) was Adelaide United’s joint leading goalscorer last season, with three goals, and joined the club for the 2023-24 Liberty A-League season.

United have confirmed Blake has departed the club, with Annabel Haffenden, Jenna Holtz, Alana Jancevski, Mariah Lee, Rosetta Taylor and Grace Wilson.

Head coach Adrian Stenta said: “We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to these players for their contributions to Adelaide United.

“Each of these players has represented the club with great dignity and spirit.

“We wish them all the best in their future endeavours, and they will always be a part of the Adelaide United family.”

Blake played her youth football for Auckland’s Three Kings United before heading to the United States where she played on a college scholarship for the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA Division 1.

After a brief stint with Perth Glory in 2023, where she scored three goals in six appearances, Blake was offered a contract with Adelaide United.

She made her Football Ferns debut in 2017, after representing New Zealand at U-17 and U-20 levels.

Blake was part of the Ferns training camp ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup but she did not make the 23-player squad selected for the tournament.
