The home side scored in the opening minute through Dillon Lazarus.

Referee Mark Fleming had a busy spell in added time, issuing cautions to Oratia’s Thomas Jacobson (dissent) and substitute Thomas Banks (delaying the start of play), and giving Oratia’s Alexander Burden his marching orders for a second yellow (foul).

The referee’s report records the game as ‘match abandoned’.

Franklin will be at home to Melville United in the second round of the cup to be played over Queen’s Birthday weekend.
