New Zealand teams lose knockout ties at World University Futsal Championships

New Zealand’s teams have lost their knockout games at the FISU World University Futsal Championships in Portugal.

Playing at the UMinho’s Sports Complex, Portugal, the New Zealand men’s side lost their quarter-final 4-0 to Brazil, meaning the team will play on Sunday(NZT) in the play-offs for places 5-8 at the week-long tournament.

The women lost their tournament semi-final 10-0 at Multiusos de Guimarães to host nation Portugal, ending their participation.
