Papakura edge into third with midweek NRF Championship win against Rangers

posted in: News

A fast start helped Papakura City to a 2-1 win against South Auckland Rangers in the NRF Men’s Championship.

The win, under the lights at Papakura’s McLennan Park, enabled the home side to climb into third place on the table.

Captain Argyle Morling helped his side to the best possible start with a goal in the opening minute.

Almost on the half hour, referee Jeremy Ferguson awarded Papakura a penalty and Cory Mackay put it away to give his side a 2-0 lead which they took into half-time.

Rangers fought back and reduced the deficit in the 68th minute through Pablo Carabajal.
