Labour Weekend provided a feast of football action, both live and delivered on screens.

Two rounds of the Women’s National League were completed, while five Men’s National League games helped to sort out the leading sides.

And in Napier, almost 1,300 of the country’s best young players gathered for the national U-19s men’s and women’s tournament hosted by Napier City Rovers.

Here’s our round-up of a busy weekend:

… and another big result for football

Three Hamilton Wanderers players have raised more than $13,000 for the Mental Health Foundation — and shone the spotlight on mental health — by climbing to the top of Mt Maunganui 38 times in 24 hours over the weekend.

Their climb was the equivalent of reaching the summit of Mt Everest.
