Wood latest: Another big transfer fee possible if striker performs for Forest

posted in: News

All Whites striker Chris Wood could trigger a transfer fee of £15 million if he meets conditions in the loan agreement between Nottingham Forest and his current club Newcastle United.

UK Spy Sports say the £15 million fee could be paid to Newcastle at the end of the loan period at the end of the English Premier League season.

The reports say the loan deal includes an obligation for Forest to complete a full transfer for the 31-year-old New Zealander if he meets conditions in the deal.

No conditions have been revealed but they are likely to cover his on-field performance for Forest, his medical condition and, possibly, whether Forest remain in the EPL next season.

Media reports say the deal has been made, Wood has approved it and he was due to go to Nottingham for a medical examination.

The Chronicle reports Forest are keen to have Wood available for their Premier League match with AFC Bournemouth this weekend.
