Former Suburbs ‘keeper secures another professional contract with Swedish club

posted in: News

Former Eastern Suburbs goalkeeper Cameron Hogg has landed a new professional contract with Swedish third-tier club Umeå FC.

Umeâ confirm Hogg’s return.

It’s the second time the 27-year-old Aucklander has signed for the club, having joined them in 2020 before switching to Slovak second division side FK Pohronie.

Umeâ announced they had agreed a one-deal with Hogg.

Team mate Adam Chennoufi, who plays in midfield for the club, said: “”In Cameron we get a good goalkeeper with a high level of ambition and professionalism.

“As a person, he is a pusher who places high demands on his surroundings, which every group needs.

“He has also been in our club before, which we see as an advantage as we know what we are getting into.”

Hogg played youth football for Forest Hill Milford and school football for Mt Albert Grammar before breaking into senior ranks with Eastern Suburbs. He moved to the United States for scholarships with the University of Buffalo and San Diego State.
