Administrator Rosie Telford awarded Life Membership by Miramar Rangers

Long-serving administrator Rosie Telford has become one of three new Life Members of Wellington club Miramar Rangers.

She was recognised for her contribution to the club when members elected her to Life Membership at their 2023 Annual General Meeting, held on February 13, 2023.

While honouring the Miramar-born and raised Telford, the club made the following tribute:

“Rosie is a highly respected and much-loved Miramar resident who has made a significant contribution to Miramar Rangers AFC over many, many years.

“Rosie played junior and women’s’ football for Miramar Rangers and/or Seatoun AFC for many years. Despite all she has done for Miramar AFC, she has also maintained a relationship with Seatoun AFC, which has been to the benefit of both clubs.

“She helped with junior ranks before being appointed as Miramar Rangers’ club administrator and club secretary – a role she continues in, on an albeit changed basis, as we begin what will be her twelfth successive year of supporting the club in this capacity.

“In her role as club administrator and club secretary, Rosie has been involved in almost every aspect of the running of the club.

“She has been, and is, the public face of the club for all junior administrative matters from registration, through weekly competition communications, through various fund and friend-raising activities, and the annual prize-giving and all that entails.

“Over the years, Rosie has provided close support, guidance and advice to successive chairs of the junior arm of the club and been a sounding board and provider of sage advice to over a decade of club office holders and colleagues across the junior and senior arms of the club.

“Her deep connections with the wider Miramar community and across the wider Wellington football community has seen her make a critical contribution to the ongoing success of Miramar Rangers.

“As a club, Miramar Rangers has, over the years, acknowledged a lengthy list of worthy recipients through awarding Life Memberships in recognition of their contributions to the club.

“Rosie Telford rightfully stands shoulder-to-shoulder with these recipients, and recognition of her contribution over many years is richly deserved.”
