Western Springs sign U-19 international with A-League experience

Northern League club Western Springs have signed midfielder Jackson Manuel, an age-group international who has made five A-League appearances for the Wellington Phoenix.

Jackson (20) made his debut for Springs in their 3-1 win against Birkenhead United last weekend, having moved north from Wellington where he played last season for Lower Hutt City, and was on the books of the Phoenix.

He has played for New Zealand at U-17 and U-19 level, and was a member of the national side that won last September’s OFC U-19 Championship in Tahiti to qualify for this year’s FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup.

Jackson is the latest member of the national U-19 squad to move to Auckland.

Striker Adam Supyk (18), previously with Lower Hutt City and the Phoenix reserves, and Josh Galletley (19), from Melville United, signed with Northern League club Eastern Suburbs for the 2023 season.
