National U-19s tournament ready for semi-finals, finals on Labour Monday

posted in: News

Semi-finalists have been found for the men’s and women’s national U-19s tournament in Napier.

The women’s section has been dominated by Auckland clubs with all the semi-final places taken by sides from the city.

Labour Monday’s semi-finals, at 8am, will feature Auckland United against two-time tournament winners Hamilton Wanderers, and Hibiscus Coast who play Western Springs.

In the men’s main tournament, Birkenhead United will chase their sixth win at the annual tournament but have to get past Miramar Rangers in their 9am semi-final.

The other semi-final is between last year’s satellite tournament runners-up Northland and Petone.

The satellite tournament lines up Wellington Phoenix against North Shore United, while the other semi-final at 8am is an all-South Island affair as Nelson Suburbs meet Christchurch United.
