Auckland United’s Golden Boot winner Josh Redfearn heads to Tasmania

Auckland United striker Josh Redfearn has signed with Australian second-tier club Glenorchy Knights.

Redfearn (22) won United’s men’s Golden Boot for 2023, scoring 13 goals in the Northern League and Men’s National League.

Auckland United have confirmed Redfearn’s departure, saying he’ll play for National Premier League club Glenorchy Knights, who are based north of Hobart, Tasmania.

Glenorchy finished third in the eight-club Tasmania NPL competition in 2023, having won the league in 2021.

London-born Redfearn is a graduate of United’s academy and has scored 43 goals in 91 appearances for the club.

He played at Onehunga Sports and Waitakere United before moving to the Keith Hay Park club in 2020.

His move was helped by the Lee Fratelli agency, based in Auckland/Sydney.
