All Whites to play Tunisia in third place play-off at Egyptian tournament

The All Whites will play Tunisia in Cairo on Wednesday morning (9am NZT) to decide which nation finishes third at the FIFA Series tournament.

Tunisia were beaten by Croatia in Sunday’s semi-final in Croatia, to set up the play-off with New Zealand.

Tunisia and Croatia were level 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes, forcing a penalty shoot-out.

It took 14 spot kicks, five of which were saved, before Croatia emerged winners, 5-4 on penalties.

Croatia will meet Egypt in the tournament final on Wednesday.

Tunisia are rated 41 in the FIFA men’s rankings, having fallen 13 places since last year.

The All Whites are ranked #103.
