Big win for Otumoetai United as Lakes drop points in WaiBOP W-League

Otumoetai United crushed Waikato Unicol 10-1, confirming their claims for the WaiBOP W-League title on a day when their nearest rivals dropped two points with an unexpected draw.

Phoebe Hawes and Brea Venimore landed hat-tricks for United as they ran away with the game at Jansen Park.

Second-placed Lakes drew 2-2 with bottom side Otumoetai, with all the goals scored before half-time.

Melville beat Claudelands Rovers in their local derby by a three-goal margin.
