Mount Albert Ponsonby will have new coaches leading their 2023 campaign in the Lotto NRFL Premiership.

Former Auckland City and Bay Olympic player Darren White (33) will become MAP’s first team coach with former New Zealand age group international Sam Jasper (36) as his assistant.

The team managers will be Jonno Ross and Matt Johnston.

White won three national titles, playing more than 120 games for Auckland City,  and five OFC Champions League titles as well as featuring the side that won a FIFA Club World Cup bronze medal in Morocco in 2014.

Since his spell with the Navy Blues, White has played for Three Kings United and Bay Olympic, and had a spell with MAP a couple of seasons ago.

White replaces Alan Hindson who decided to step away from the role at the end of last season, after four years in charge.

Assistant coach Jasper is a former U-17 and U-20 international who played for the New Zealand Knights, Waitakere United, North Shore United, Glenfield Rovers, East Coast Bays, Bay Olympic and was with Albany United last season.

MAP played in last season’s Lotto NRFL first division which becomes known as the Premiership in 2023, with the division two splitting into Northern and Southern NRFL Conferences.
