White and Jasper to return for another crack at promotion to Northern League

Mount Albert Ponsonby are looking to improve on this year’s fourth place in the Lotto NRFL Men’s Championship with the return of Darren White and Sam Jasper as their first-team coaches.

White (34) has been re-appointed as head coach and Jasper (37) as assistant coach, after their first season in charge at Anderson Park.

Confirming the pair will return for next season, the club said: “2023 was a pleasing year, despite the frustration of not finishing in the top two. Both coaches will be returning to rectify that next year.

“We expect big things for 2024. These lads don’t coach to make up the numbers. They coach to win.”

After his spell with the Navy Blues, White played for Three Kings United and Bay Olympic, and also had a playing stint with MAP.

Jasper is a former U-17 and U-20 international who played for the New Zealand Knights, Waitakere United, North Shore United, Glenfield Rovers, East Coast Bays, Bay Olympic and was with Albany United last season.
