COVID disrupts final round of Women’s National League as game cancelled

Saturday’s game between Canterbury United Pride and Capital Football will not go ahead due to a number of COVID-19 cases in the home squad.

NZ Football have confirmed the match will not go ahead in accordance with the competition’s COVID-19 protocols.

A statement from NZ Football says: “As it is the final league round of the season, and after discussion with both teams, the decision has been taken not to reschedule the game as there isn’t a viable opportunity to replay before the end of the year. The game will instead be recorded as a 0-0 draw.”
