More than 900,000 tickets have been snapped up for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The highest-demand matches hosted in New Zealand are the opening match between the Football Ferns and Norway at Eden Park, USA’s game against the Netherlands in Wellington, and the knock-out stage clashes.

As expected, high-profile teams such as Sweden, the United States, and the Netherlands are generating high ticket demand for their group matches.

Dave Beeche, Chief Executive of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, said: “We’re on track with ticket sales. We’ve got an attendance target of 1.5 million, and we’re well over 900,000 across Australia and New Zealand.

“The interest and engagement have been super positive, and we’re happy with how we’re tracking,”

About 250,000 more tickets will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, June 6 at 2pm (NZT).

FIFA Women’s World Cup Chief Operating Officer Jane Patterson encourages everyone thinking of attending to purchase tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

“We saw what happened with the Women’s Rugby World Cup last year when tickets just flew out the door.

“We know this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to inspire the next generation of girls and young women and to show what’s possible when they are given a chance to shine.”
