Auckland United’s Alosi Bloomfield scored New Zealand’s only goal as her side lost their opening match at the FISU World University Futsal Championships in Portugal.
Playing at the UMinho’s Sports Complex in Braga, Portugal, the New Zealand side lost 5-1 to Poland, after going behind 3-0 within seven minutes.
Bloomfield, who plays for Auckland United in the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League, reduced the deficit a minute later but Poland always had control of the game.
