Fencibles United have beaten second-placed Onehunga Sports 2-0 in a Friday night fixture that shows how competitive this year’s NRF Women’s Championship has become.
Since the split of the 11-team competition into a two-tiered affair (Championship and Conference), teams have been beating those above them on the tables.
With the exception of champions Hibiscus Coast — unbeaten after 12 rounds — the other sides all seem capable of beating each other if they turn up with their best game.
Friday night was Fencibles’ night to deliver, winning 2- 0 at their William Green Domain ground for back-to-back wins after last weekend’s 1-0 win at Manukau United.
