Metro FC have announced the departure of their Director of Football, Tim Ragg, saying he’s in line to take over as head coach and DoF at Lotto NRFL rivals Onehunga Mangere United.

Announcing the move, Metro stated: “We are sad to see Tim depart, and know he will be an asset on OMUAFC in the coming year as he brings his skillset to his new home.”

The club thanked Ragg “for his dedication, passion and effort in developing a successful, thorough and enjoyable pathway for all of our junior and youth players.”

Ragg’s move to Mangere Mountain completes other coaching moves involving the two clubs:

  • Scott MacKay has joined Metro as their men’s head coach for next season’s Lotto NRFL campaign. MacKay was at West Auckland last season.
  • Paul Marshall has left Onehunga Mangere United, where he was head coach, to join the coaching staff at newly-promoted Northern League club Manurewa.

Meanwhile, Metro are now advertising for a Director of Football to oversee the development of junior and youth football at the club.

The successful applicant will work with the Auckland City FC Academy Director to ensure a unified approach in line with the Memorandum of Understanding between the two clubs.
